Folks: In the very near future I'm going to attempt an upgrade of the mail system to a new version of Linux ... this will certainly cause some downtime and could possibly cause some disruption in the mail processing. I will endeavor to minimize the disruption, but please do not be surprised if there are problems. If a message does not show up on the list in a reasonable amount of time (24-48 hours) simply re post it. If there is an extended outage (very unlikely) status reports will be posted to http://www.midrange.com. My current plan is to implement the change tomorrow (Sunday, 1/30). For those who are interested: I'm currently running Slackware 3.6 (very old) and want to upgrade to Redhat 6.1. The slackware system is extraordinarily unstable and I want to implement some things that require a lot more stability. I'm currently configuring the RH install on a spare hard IDE HD (in another computer) and will simply replace the SCSI drive the OS is now running on with the new drive. All list data resides on a separate drive, so recovery of the system will simply putting the SCSI drive back.
