Project Description and Tasks:

· iSeries senior performance and capacity analyst-required to be on site in 
Mahwah NJ 5 days per week as a member of a client managed team. 

· Candidates must have strong analytical as well as written, verbal and 
presentation skills. 

· The ability to work with various levels of management in a large organization 
is required. 

· The person will be expected to translate business plans into technical 
requirements. 

· The ability to plan proactively to prevent performance problems is required. 

· Proficiency in planning for and managing various projects is also required. 

· The ideal candidate must be proficient in all aspects of iSeries capacity 
planning and performance analysis, with an in-depth knowledge of the AS 400 
operating systems. 

· Real time trouble shooting of performance problems, which could be simple-CPU 
memory allocations against sub systems DASD utilization or complex -Disk busy 
and I O bottlenecks high page faulting Java command server sizing determination 
of optimal heap size and Java garbage collection application performance tuning 
determination of files to pin into memory. 

· The position requires experience with the following processes, commands and 
software:

o WRKSYSACT DSPPFRDDTA WRKACTJOB TRCINT BEST1 Perform Predict Sub system 
tuning-JOBD, routing entries, and class definitions. iDoctor tools-Performance 
Explorer PEX and Java Heap Analyzer 

· The position requires experience with the following:

o Load generation tests where the application will generate a stress of the 
application to capture and report on performance of the system and application 
using interactive tools and performance collection detail data, to capture 
application and or system bottlenecks 

o Performance testing to size a new initiative. 

o Use the application load test and modeling tools to predict the requirements 
based on growth CPU memory DASD arms application tuning. Modeling to size for 
production based on test results. Before and after test to measure change in 
the application-CPU memory disk I O disk paging thread counts activity 
levels-using the performance collection data. Provide detailed before after 
comparison 

o Modeling to define the capacity needed based on various levels of growth. 
Defining workload characteristics and growing the workload at different levels 
to determine the ultimate capacity requirements of the server supporting the 
various workloads. 

o Server consolidation-using modeling tools to combine the models of multiple 
servers to determine the requirements of the consolidated 
server.
