Take one of the certification exams from IBM. Visit the web site and search on certify.
Has it proved useful, in your opinion?
Not yet. I am on the same contract that I had before certifying.
Was it expensive?
I teach part-time at a local community college. That allows me to take advantage of free certs at the IBM Summer School. I think they go for $170-$180 per test.
Tough to pass?
I didn't have any trouble. RPG is by far my primary skill. Notice that other than RPG I only certified as an Associater Operator not Professional. (That will be next year) :)
