It comes 2 general categories

General liability in case a PC accidentally falls while you are touching
it. Generally covers loss of physical assets. Cost should be under $500
per year. Sometime a client wants you to list them on the policy which
only causes the insurance company to notify the client if you cancel or
they cancel for non payment.

Professional liability covers unfortunate outcome and not just
professional malpractice. Generally purchase through a group (e.g. IEEE
or ICCA) and the cost can run as high as $25,000 per year. Same
situation of a client wanting to be listed.

Some believe working as a corporation will protect you from financial
losses. Anyone can go after you personally. Nothing stops a judge from
saying the corporation is just a "false entity" in a liability situation.
