Companies are looking for hires, but not too much contract/consultant work.
I don't see as much direct e-work on the AS/400 as I do providing access to
the AS/400 data/programs for an other-platform web sever (like NT).

I'm a software person, not a hardware person, so I'm waiting for V5R1 in the 
Spring.

People are just starting to really use RPG/IV, so PASE is a little "out there".

Not really too many consulting issues to deal with other than the market woes.

I'm not holding my breath until this happens.

I have learned Java and passed the Sun Java 2 Programmer Certification. I also
attended a WebSphere seminar in Rochester. Not too much going on there either
(at least on the AS/400). You have to move to the UNIX world to find Java work
it seems.
