Hi Dave, This is the first I heard of this hang. Autosave files are stored in the <CODE install dir>\tmp directory and have file names QDSU*.CHK You may want to clean up all of your old autosave files and here, so that it takes less time to come up with a new number. The same would be true of temp files used for downloading (QDSU*.TMP) compile listings (QDSU*.LST) and compile error event files (QDSU*.EVT) Whenever you have a hang situation it is a good idea to look in the communications trace - this is found in <install drive>\Program Files\IBM\Shared Files\FVDCERRS.LOG If communications is hanging, then one workaround is to delete the contents of that directory and respecify your servers and library lists. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edmund Reinhardt, AS/400 AD Tools, reinhard@xxxxxxxxxx Dept 607, IBM Canada Lab TL 969-4392 Phone 905-413-4392 Dave Shaw <daveshaw@bellsou th.net> To Sent by: <code400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> code400-l-bounces cc @midrange.com Subject autosaving hang 02/23/2006 10:00 AM Please respond to "CODE/400 Discussion & Support" <code400-l@midran ge.com> As noted yesterday, I've upgraded CODE to 6.0.1. In the past, I've had occasional slowdowns with Designer when it was saving a checkpoint, but I've grown resigned to them, and it does eventually come back and let me continue working. Today, Edit is hanging on an autosave, and after more than 5 minutes it hasn't come back yet. I haven't seen this happen before, and I'm wondering if I've just been lucky for the past 6+ years or if this is a new 'feature'. Thanks for any thoughts.
