Hi Mike,

I don't ever load that stuff in designer anymore largely due to that
which
you complain about. I keep wdsci open all day anyway so when I need to
design a screen or print file, I find it in my wdsci 'Remote Systems'
perspective, highlight it, right button and choose 'Open With' and 'CODE
Designer'. That fires off code and loads the member pretty much
immediately. If I need to create a member, I do that first and load it
through wdsci as well.

hth

Subject: Long Time For Building Source File List.

One of the major frustration factors I have with Code400/Designer is the
amount of time it takes to build the source file list when I first start
my connection in the morning. Some days it takes 2, 3, or 4 minutes to
build this list to enable me to drill down to the source member I want.
As I write this I am also waiting for the a DDS to load into Designer.
I've been waiting for 2m 35s. This is my first 'load' of the day, and I
have noticed that subsequent opens are much quicker.

Is it something in the configuration or do I just live with it and
eventually go back to PDM?

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks.

Mike Pantzopoulos
