There is a certain very old member that saves as an empty member when saving in CODE. You don't have to make any changes either and several people can reproduce this. If we first use an STRCODE session, it saves the entire member fine but gives errors in CODE and shuts down the STRCODE session. Those errors are: EVF2011 RC=2 "There are error messages from the compilation". Then when trying to exit the member with F3 gives "EVF4050E-Communication Daemon Unable to send data to host server OS400 at '<ip address>'. The send failed due to a TCP/IP error - No data was received." The ip address stated is not the ip address of our machine. It is another server that we never use CODE on. I decided to try opening up and saving with the LPEX editor instead and that worked. I can also fix the problem by first bringing up the member in SEU and either adding or deleting a line and saving. Then when bringing up in CODE and saving, it is fine. If you bring up the member in SEU and just change a line and save, the CODE editor still blows up. You have to add or delete a line. Something about SEU fixes the problem when a line is added or deleted. Doing a source compare shows no differences. I thought it might have to do with resequencing in SEU but that was set to "N" every time. This member was last modified 4/21/99 with only a couple lines that look fine. The original member created 6/20/98 saves fine. I tested by copying both of these to a different library. The original is fine but not the 4/21/99 version. I am on the latest version of WDSC. Any ideas? Thanks! Craig Strong
