WDSCi minimum hardware to install (was: WebSphere dev studio 5.1)

I think that this might be a breath of fresh air.  Clearly, IBM is not ever
going to recommend the sort of hardware I'm running.  Equally clearly, there
are plenty of  very serviceable machines in this class out in the workplace,
and with the economy the way it is, everybody is looking to cut expenses;
not add to them.

Or buy a PCI LAN card since it's an AT card in there now.

I think you're right.  I always use Mushkin or Crucial in my machines at
home and have never been disappointed.  The folks here have used Brand X and
had odd sporadic problems.

It's an interesting question, since it's my money we're talking about for my
machine at work.  Am I better off to sink a little money into an antique, or
spend twice that and have an essentially new machine altogether?  Most
importantly, what will She Who Must Be Obeyed think?  I can hear her now...
