If you have a software license (which you do if you have compilers) then you need to contact your IBM rep (or whatever they are called) and request the WDSc discs. Unless they started shipping them out by default, but we had to order ours (they are "free"). The prerequistes for WSDc 5.0 say that V5R1 is required. Must I forego WSDc 5.0 because of that? Also, I asked earlier: How do I get WSDc, legally? I am not at all happy about this turn of events. I have and use Websphere Development Tools for iSeries V5.1. I upgraded to XP several months ago and now suddenly Code Edit no longer works. So far I have not found a way to fix it. One response is that WDT for iSeries is not supported for XP, get WSDc. How? I found a purchase price of $2600. Wow. That is not an option I'd choose. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: CODE/400 Discussion & Support Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2003 10:57:01 To: CODE/400 Discussion & Support Subject: Re: WSDc 5.0 The classic tools are all there (minus some bugs thankfully). The only thing to watch for is during the install. By default the shortcuts and help for classic tools will not be installed. You simply need to check off that you want them too. (The tools themselves will always be installed but the help is a huge number of files so we have made it optional). You will want to have another crack at RSE. There has been huge improvements in function. For working offline, you will find that iSeries Projects will have superceded the function of CPO. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------- Edmund Reinhardt, AS/400 AD Tools, reinhard@xxxxxxxxxx Dept 607, IBM Canada Lab TL 969-4392 Phone 905-413-4392 sublime78ska@xxxxxxxxx Sent by: code400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 26/03/2003 10:05 AM Please respond to CODE/400 Discussion & Support To: CODE400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc: Subject: WSDc 5.0 I'm eager to upgrade. But I want to be aware of any new limitations placed on CPO, CODE, DESIGNER, the EVFCFDBK program on the iSeries, and/or the help system within CODE. Are there any? When I'm local, I use PDM and start CODE and DESIGNER by calling EVFCFDBK. When I'm remote, I use CPO. I'm trying to use RSE but I still don't have the knack of it.
