Right, thats exactly what happens.  On my 19" monitor with  1152 x 864
resolution the characters on the design screen are immense.  I can only see
about 88 columns, but I can see them from the across the room.

Mmmm. Now that I have reread your post, I see now that I cannot answer the
question about font size. However, you would be able to see 132 in
Designer (198 for that matter) by scrolling across. Resizing the work area
would help, too.
