We just upgraded to V5R2 (9406-820), so I don't know if this is an issue
where the system is not balanced (i.e. pools, max jobs, etc). The Jobs
running on the AS/400 seem to run fine, only my code/400 session is slow
(Windows 2000 SP3). Is there some job setting on the AS/400 that will speed
up the communication between the client and host ( e.g. bigger time slice)?

If I don't know the member name I use the open command to retrieve the
library list. I then click on the library and Code/400 seems to take a long
time to display the source members even though there really isn't a lot of
objects in that library. Also the first time I verify a program it takes
about 2 minutes (the previous Code/400 version running on V4R5 was much
faster). After that it uses the cache and it seems normal. I do submit
compiles from Code/400 and they finish quickly.

Because of this slowness, I normally don't open files from Code/400, I go to
the AS/400 and issue the CODEEDIT command. I also don't want to verify
programs unless I go get coffee while code/400 is working.

Anyone else having slow response times like this? (I am aware about the
cache issue from doing a search in the archives.)

Thanks,
