Sam, Even with WDSC 4.0 SP2, certain CL commands like CRTLIB, ADDLIBLE, CALL, ...., do not pop up in the STRCODE session like you would expect but use local GUI. I think this is true for most versions of CODE/400 but I cannot remember when CL GUI prompting became included with CODE/400. Enabling extras by typing "EXTRAS ON" (then opening CODE/400) will show Extras -> CL GUI Prompting. Although, checking this option will allow all CL commands to be prompted in GUI, unchecking this option will still keep the previously mentioned commands as local GUI even though you would expect and want them in the STRCODE session. On 1/14/02, Hak said, "I agree the inconsistency in this behavior. However, I don't know if we can provide any solution for this in the current release now. I need to investigate this". I know this is still not resolved today but I can live with it the way it is. It is just something to be aware of. I hope this is still being addressed. If you want to read more about this issue, see Hak's response on 1/14/02 with subject of Re: CL GUI prompting haunting programmers. I hope this helps. By this I mean that the prompt doesn't come up in the green screen session where STRCODE is running, but it comes up as a Java (well, it looked like Java) app on my PC. As I recall, you can turn it on or off from a menu item. Granted I had an iteractive STRCODE session going, but I will try it with STRCODE running in a batch session.
