I get this error periodically even though the file exists in the library
list, the communications line is up, and I’m using the cache-refresh option
when verifying. Verify works if I verify without using the cache. If I
clear the cache, the verify works (after all the references are re-cached).

It looks like the file name is added to the cache index but the object
description never makes it there; I suspect EVFCTCPD.EXE (which should be
renamed “EVIL_TCP”) screws up randomly and corrupts the cache with
incomplete entries. What, no commitment control?

The next time this happens, I’m going to go through the cache entries, zap
any with a size of 0, and retry the verify.
