Amen, Brother Paris! I agree with point and fact, without qualification (except it's less than "once in a blue moon"). -----Original Message----- From: code400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:code400-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Jon Paris Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2002 2:23 PM To: code400-l@midrange.com Subject: AutoSave and Recovery On the subject of Autosave - If the IBMers are listening ...... Could we please have at least the _option_ to keep the file name of the autosave file the same ? Maybe with a numeric extension if it has to. The system only recognizes the existence of an autosave file once in a blue moon in my experience (it is about the _one_ thing that I prefer about SEU). This always seems to be the case when building a new file on the PC. I could have sworn that for a brief period I had a version that retained the original name but that is certainly not true of my current version. Autosave is a wonderful feature made close to useless by the fact that it is so darn difficult to locate the save file. PS. My current technique is to point at the TMP directory and use the Windows search feature to look for a string I know/hope will be there. I then look for the latest time-stamp.
