Some of our recent threads have generated a lot of back and forth discussion. That's good, but as the messages get longer please cut off the parts that are no longer relevant. One recent post was a few hundred lines long. Some of it was no longer relevant and most of it was automated footers generated by the mailing list and the sender's software. For many people it's not a big deal but it can become an issue in 2 situations that I can think of: People who are on slow connections end up spending a lot of time downloading what is repetitive and no longer helpful. People who use digest mode have to hunt for relevant additions. It can be difficult to find the beginning/end of each message when hundreds of lines are repeated.
