My IP name is an address...unless we can add something to the LMHOST file? -----Original Message----- From: code400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:code400-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of haklui@ca.ibm.com Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 8:53 AM To: code400-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Open IFS file I think we do have inconsistency/problem in defining server for an IFS open here. As far as I understand, first of all, the 'server' in the 'Open IFS file' dialogue requires that it be defined in your communications console. Secondly, the 'AS400 IP Name' must be the same as 'CODE/400 Server Name'. So for now, if you have an AS/400 host IP name 'AS001', then the server name must be 'AS001'. Hope this will help. In the Server field I entered the server I defined, which is also the IP address of the as/400, and I got this error message when I clicked the Browse button: Unable to connect to AS400 I then entered the server name of my STRCODE server, and I got this error message when I clicked the Browse button: Dialog operation failedjava.net.UnknownHostException: OS400A If I typed in a file name, /home/phil/test.txt, I got this error when I pressed OK: EVF2032 RC = 385 File name /home/phil/test.txt not valid What am I doing wrong?
