Paul, I have run into your problem before and have fixed it on my PC thanks to a previous post by Eric Simpson (look farther down for that post). I just had to set my CLASSPATH environment variable to C:\WDT400\JAVA. To do this, go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Click Environment tab -> Click on the CLASSPATH variable and make it point to C: \WDT400\JAVA. I think that is the only thing I changed so my Windows NT 4.0 PC had the same value as a Windows 2000 PC. This was also according to Eric Simpson. If this does not work, let me know and I will try to find differences between your environment tab and mine. I am not one of the two, not including Reeve, that Eric mentioned, so there are at least four of us who have run into this problem. Are you on Windows 2000? I have seen CL GUI prompting work on Windows 2000 automatically but not on Windows NT without changing the CLASSPATH variable. It would be interesting to know if the other people who had to change their CLASSPATH variable were not on Windows 2000. It appears that Reeve Fritchman had the same problem and he was on Windows 2000. I'm not sure when this variable gets set but it does not appear to be consistent. I hope this helps, Craig Strong craigs@dekko.com *** Paul Tuohy previously wrote: Hi Hak, Still no luck, I'm afraid. The only difference in your instructions was to ensure that the communications daemon was ended. I re-booted, closed the communications daemon from the toolbar, did a CODEEDIT /C EXIT from a DOS window, extracted from the .ZIP file (to WDT400), restarted communications, edited an existing CL program (from a project list), made sure that CL GUI prompting was selected on Extras, and I still get "Unable to find required classes". I have a full install of WDT, so nothing should be missing. I have SP3 installed, could this be a problem (FAQ and web page say download is for SP1/SP2)? I noted when extracting the files that one of them - L4CODE.DLL had an earlier date then the one it was replacing, 19/07/2001 replacing 26/09/2001. I had downloaded the zip from http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/support/co desupport.html. As always, all help greatly appreciated. TIA Paul Tuohy *** Eric Simpson previously wrote: Reeve, After receiving the error, please go into the macro log (Windows->Macro log). There should be a message indicating which class could not be found. It should also list what CLASSPATH is being used by the editor. If you let me know that information, we can track down the problem. One thing that two other customers have run into is that their system's CLASSPATH environment variable did not contain C:\WDT400\JAVA which should be set during install. After adding that to their environment variable and restarting, the problem was fixed. During the extract process, I received several messages asking about overwriting files (to be expected) and I accepted the newer version. I activated "GUI prompting" from "Extras" (and turned on "Highlight line" too). After restarting CODE/400 and downloading a CLLE member from the server, I've found that pressing F1 gives me the "Unable to find all required classes" error. Prompting (F4) erases the line. FYI: I have code installed related to PMR 39111, 500. I'd appreciate a hint and be grateful for an answer. Thanks, rf Environment: WDT V5R1 w/SP2; Win2K current with MS fixes (SP2). Server: V5R1M0.
