Not that I would know anything about that! Chris -----Original Message----- From: Scott Johnson [mailto:sjohnson@highsmith.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 9:25 AM To: code400-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Follow-Up: "Extract Fields" problem Dave, Shouldn't the file in the first part be fields.lx and not extras.lx? -- Scott As a follow-up and summary: To avoid problem of fields with long text: 1. Copy x:\WDT400\macros\extras.lx to your macro folder. 2. Edit your copy of the extras.lx macro. At about line 326, change the statement 'insert 'stuff to 'insert 'LEFT(stuff,80) 3. Exit and save the extras.lx macro. To add "Extract Fields (LIST)" to right-click menu: 1. Copy x:\WDT400\extras\profsys.lxu to your macro folder. 2. Edit your copy of the profsys.lxu macro. Toward the end of the macro, add the statement 'SET POPUPMENU.Extract_fields_(LIST) MACRO FIELDS' between the line beginning with "if wordpos(" and the "end" line. You will need to keep the apostrophes in the statement. 3. Exit and save the profsys.lxu macro. Note: I couldn't get the right-click functionality to work until I rebooted (actually, my system crashed - it IS Windows, after all). You will have to exit CodeEdit and possibly end the communications server before this works for you. YMMV. Thanks to Scott Johnson! He's my hero for the week!
