That looks like the dreaded comm deamon crash.  If you can be so kind as
to email Violaine the info below she will be happy go get you going!

Would you please e-mail Violaine (batthish@ca.ibm.com) the following
information:
1) The service pack level you have installed
2) The exact error message you are receiveing (a screen capture would be
nice)
3) The following file:
        On Win98/ME:   C:\WINDOWS\IBMCOM\FVDCERRS.LOG
        On WinNT:C:\WINNT\IBMCOM\FVDCERRS.LOG
        On Win2k: C:\Program files\IBM\Shared Files\FVDCERRS.LOG

4) The following file:
        On Win98/ME:   C:\WINDOWS\IBMCOM\CODEServer.XML
        On WinNT:C:\WINNT\IBMCOM\CODEServer.XML
        On Win2k: C:\Program files\IBM\Shared Files\CODEServer.XML

Good Morning all,

I'm having a problem when I start Code Designer and attempt to open a
particular member.  When I click on the server (expecting to get a list of
libraries), I do get a message at the bottom of the "open" panel
indicating
that the library list is being retrieved.  However, the world stands still
for several long minutes and then I receive two exception messages.

The first:
The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the
application at location 0x77fcb134.  OK to terminate or Cancel to debug.

The second:
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000027) occurred in the
application at location 0x77e86153.  OK to terminate or Cancel to debug.

The pc is W2K sp2; the iSeries V5R1M0 (WDT the same).

Any clues would be helpful.
