Hello Rob,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm aware of and have used the keyboard help and am aware that the
editor is extensible. I just didn't want to go to the trouble of reinventing
the wheel if some other benevolent former Flex/Edit user(s) has already
created a set of macros to give CODE a personality similar to Flex/Edit.

Regarding customizing the right mouse button, I wrote that the desired
action is like that when using the LEFT mouse button in Client Access. It is
the same action you can perform in CODE by holding down the Alt key and then
double clicking the left mouse button and dragging to select the block of
text. Out of habit, I would just prefer to click and drag using the right
mouse button.

In no way is my query meant to be disparaging to CODE or its developers. I
applaud their efforts and wish IBM management would give them all the
resources necessary to continue to enhance CODE and the entire WDT. As one
who makes a living by developing AS400/iSeries applications, the creation
and pricing of the WDT is one of the best things I've seen from IBM in quite
a while. My only complaint, given the fact I was using Flex/Edit and
RPG/free 10 years ago, is what took you so long? If IBM management had had
the vision and dedicated the resources back then, just think of where CODE
and RPG would be today.

Climbing off my soapbox ...

Regards,

BJ

1) Exactly what are you trying to get the keyboard to do? Are you aware
that you can click on Help, Keys Help and get a list of shortcut key
sequences? These are customizable.
2) Which part of Client Access are you talking about? In 5250 the right
click brings up a macro popup menu. Or, do you have your mouse mapped to a
left hand user? Are you trying to duplicate the function in Code executed
by the following:
Edit, Block, Mark Rectangle at your top left
and Edit, Block, Mark Rectangle at your bottom right?
You can also do AltR at your top left and AltR at your bottom right to do
the same thing.

Ps: I just started using Code this week. Wouldn't start before without a
training session.

Hi All,

I'm an old Flex/Edit user who is converting to the CODE editor and I have a
couple of questions about customization.

First off, is there an editor personality or set of macros available that
will change the CODE editor keyboard to function more like Flex/Edit? I did
find the clipline.lx macro (Thanks, David Morris) on the shared programs
web
page and it is a good first step.

Secondly, can the right mouse button be customized to select a rectangular
block of text the way the right mouse button selects text in Flex/Edit?
This
is also the way the left mouse button selects text in Client Access.

TIA,

==
