RE: Code/400 newbie question

Thank you - this seems to have been the problem.

The environment variables were set up as user variables and the user profile
I was using wasn't the same one I installed code/400 with.

I am set to move on with the tutorial.  Thanks again

Hi Phil,

You don't mention what version of Windows you are using, but it sounds
lilke some of the problem you get on Windows 2000 or NT when you install as
administrator, but use the product as another user.  To use CODE, you must
have at least power user access and ensure that the WDT environment
variables are setup properly.  Please refer to the following web page:

I am trying to work through the tutorial available at IBM's code/400 page
(http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/html/course_21LF.html)

The job hangs when I press F1, when I prompt F4, and when I select Action
Compile.  To recover I have to kill the jobs in the task manager (both
applications and processes).  Then end and restart the STRCODE job.
I followed the instructions in the tutorial about signing on to the AS/400
and calling
STRCODE.
My pc is running W2K and has 256 mb of ram.  I installed Code/400 along
with
everything else on the WDTS cd's.  The as/400 is at V4R5.
Anyone got any ideas?
