Go into the Windows -> Communications -> Properties and wait for a small eternity while the Java powered dialog comes up. There you can specify your AS/400 server (by name or IP) and a whole bunch of other stuff like additional libraries to be added to you base library list. Subsequently when you use the Open dialog you will see the new server listed and everything should work as normal. The only thing you can't do with this server is issue commands that result in a 5250 screen (e.g. WRKACTJOB) or CL prompting. PS. You may need to stop the communication daemon before this will work. PPS.
