I can now get Code400 to communicate to their machine.  I went to my “Define TCP/IP Servers” and entered their IP address.  I then went to “Define Server Logon” and entered their IP address and my user sign-on info.  Now it shows up as OS400A when I go to the File/Open menu option and it will get the source program that I specify.

I’m still not sure how to set their AS400 up to allow strcode to work, but at least I can work in code400 on their machine now.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

It seems you're right with the *ICFF file. I was mislead from

the message pointing at the missing '*DFT'. Try changing the

command to

"STRCODE SERVER(HMTEST)

RMTLOCNAME('216.228.183.236')

CMNTYPE(*TCPIP) PORT(*DFT)"

because the standard for port is "*PRV"

or if you know the port they're using type it in.
