SUBJECT: VARPG install problem related to IPF32.DLL
I received the attached message from a Student in my college-level VARPG
class. She's having trouble getting IBM VARPG and Client Access Express
products installed on two different machines. Anything jump out at
anyone, related to IPF32.DLL on Compaq machines? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks very much. Rick

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Rick,
I installed VARPG(with Service Packs) several times on my machine
and repeatedly I came up with "Can not find IPF32.DLL" and then
"unrecoverable error occurred during startup". I even used the master
CD from Adrienne! This was on my machine that was also able to install
Client Access successfully without crashes. I installed it on the
Compaq laptop(the one that kept crashing with Client Access) which
initially I thought would be OK but after a while I again experienced
crashes but not like with Client Access( I was at least able to
accomplish the homework assignments between two crashes). I am at a
great loss about what to do. Do we have any IBM support? I tried for
quite a while to find some "fix" through their websites but nothing
particular came up with this problem. This IPF32.DLL file is on the CD
in a bin folder and I also find it within the installed program-it's
just not going where it should once it is installed and I am not sure
exactly where it should be. I tried a few places and the program would
allow me to open the GUI Designer but I couldn't save anything. Do you
have any suggestions? It really is imperative that I can utilize these
programs from home. See you in class on Tuesday night. Thanks for any
suggestions.---Chris Croteau
