When VARPG connects up to the 400, 2 jobs are started.  One handles
the file stuff, one handles other requests.  Here is some info from
one of the VARPG manuals:

If the VisualAge for RPG program calls AS/400 CL commands:, 

 o Specify a CALL to QCMDDDM if the CL command issues commands for AS/400 files 
 o Specify a CALL to QCMDEXC if the CL command issues commands to AS/400
programs and/or AS/400 data areas.

I do believe you would have to use QCMDDDM to get the right QTEMP.
