I used the IBM command RTVDIRINF to create files QRYIFSD and QRYIFSO in QGPL. I would like to read QRYIFSD in COBOL, but it is encoded in Unicode. COBOL shows it as externally described, but the Unicode fields all come up as FILLER with comments.

I suspect that I have to open it some special way or describe it in some special way, but the IBM manuals are keeping that pretty well hidden.

Any suggestions welcome.

I'm just trying to get a list of Paths in the IFS while excluding quite a few of them.
