Jon,
That is interesting. I did what you said, changed the variables from 'FORMAT
TIMESTAMP' to 'FORMAT DATE', and it works correctly.

Thanks much.

Interestingly if you change the definitions of the two timestamps to
be dates - no need to change anything else - The answer is then
correct (I tested by computing Months as well) so there's apparently
nothing wrong with the values you are loading.

I don't see any APARs or anything on the IBM site so unless anyone
else can spot something I'd suggest opening an APAR.

Hi

I'm having trouble with the COBOL ILE FUNCTION FIND-DURATION on OS/400
V5R3M0. I'm trying to calculate the number of years between two
timestamps.
The function in the example code returns 100 instead of 1. Can
anyone tell
me what I'm doing wrong? See the code here:

Here are the commands I used to compile the module and create the
program:

CRTCBLMOD MODULE(QGPL/FINDDUR) SRCFILE(QGPL/QCBLSRC)
Module FINDDUR created in library QGPL on 07/09/09 at 19:01:18.
crtpgm qgpl/finddur
Program FINDDUR created in library QGPL.
