I can check the program status data structure (or the %PARMS BIF) to see
how many parameters were actually passed. Is there an equivalent function
in COBOL?
Good question - wish I could remember the answer <grin> Of course you could
always use descriptors, but I don't think COBOL generates minimal
descriptors by default in the way that RPG does. Come to think of it, that
very fact probably means that there isn't an equivalent to %Parms.
I have always tested the ADDRESS OF the Linkage variable to see if it is
non-null.
