Probably easier to used the DSPLOG command to select job start and job end messages and print them. Then copy the spooled file to a data base file for processing by a COBOL program. For example:

DSPLOG PERIOD(( start-time start-date) (end-time end-date)) OUTPUT(*PRINT) MSGID(CPF1124 CPF1164)
CRTPF QTEMP/HSTLOG RCDLEN(132)
CPYSPLF QPDSPLOG TOFILE(QTEMP/HSTLOG) SPLNBR(*LAST)

Then read and parse the database file.

Simon Coulter.
