Thanks guys...........Problem solved.... it was my mistake - but one of you made a comment that made me think.
Someone asked if I was "opening the logical also".......I thought he might have meant I had to open the physical and logical. When I went to add the SELECT statement for the physical, I noticed the DATABASE-WFLOD **should** have been DATABASE-WFLODL02.
Thanks for your help - and ideas - it made it work.....----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Stafford" <don.stafford@xxxxxxxxx>

That was my thinking also - and what the IBM ILE Cobol manual says----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Paris" <Jon.Paris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "'COBOL Programming on the iSeries/AS400'" <cobol400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 01, 2006 12:04 PM Subject: Re: [COBOL400-L] Logical File AccessThe code is no longer in the message and hasn't reached the archives so I'mguessing here ... Also my COBOL is _very_ rusty so excuse me if I'm out tolunch. Did you actually specify the KEY IS clause? If not the program will beusing the entire key for the START and because it is a composite key therewill indeed be no match. Specifying the key should cause it to only do the compare on the first 15 characters.
