Hello,

I am trying to convert an HP 3000 COBOL program to the iSeries. The
program is run in the backround continuously and is designed to never
abort. All files are accessed via HP intrinsics using the file number
and are not defined in the in the file section. Does anybody have any
idea on the best way to accomplish this on the iSeries? From what I
have found - the Open File API sounds like it will do what I want - but
I have not found any COBOL examples of its usage. The code example in
the book looks like it may be c++. I am thinking that I will need to
call the c++ program from within my COBOL program and then check the
disposition of the file within my COBOL program, but I am not sure, and
asking you iSeries COBOL experts for advice.

Thanks and have a great day!
