Hi Bob, Fortunately I have an AS400 commtrace of the working device from another project(working nicely with the AS400). When I compare the two of them, it is clear that the difference lies in the INIT-SELF. At startup time, my program will do an init-self WRITE invite. Apparently the device did not respond to the init-self invitation. I haven't got the commtrace from OS/390, I will try to get one to compare as well. Currently we can setup the 4701 device to send init-self and it is now able to communicate. The plan was to hook-up 200 4701 devices already running in production at different branches. It is unlikely to go down and setup all 200 devices manually to send INIT-SELF so that it can talk to AS400. It will be very efficient if we can just tweak at the AS400 site. regards, oemar --- Bob <bob_larkin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > It's been years since I programmed SNA, but I would > consider doing a > Communications trace on the AS/400 initiation > attempt.
