Check out the COBOL Reference manual in the Information Center.  On-line 
it's only available in PDF (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader):

If you've got WDSc installed (it's included in the cost of any compilers 
for OS/400), the manual is included and lists all the intrinsic functions. 
 The manual documents them well.  There are usually examples of how to 
utilize each of them.

   i'm thinking that the word "function" is a reserved word in COBOL400
right?
   so maybe there is some functions available to cobol400?

   Is that true? If true what are the available functions in cobol400?
