>> What happens to COBOL? (ILE, OO, etc, etc...) COBOL is still progressing. There's still a lot of COBOL usage on mainframes and (more surprisingly) on Un*x systems. MicroFocus continue to push the limits with their COBOL implementations check out http://www.microfocus.com. The latest ANSI standard is an OO COBOL - but the iSeries users have shown little or no interest in having an implementation on the box. Heck most iSeries COBOL users barely use the facilities of ILE COBOL let alone move to an OO dialect.
