To tell the truth, I haven't been totally clear on what your issue really is because you've been posting your problems with HTML. Please post in plain-text. I'm including the entire textual result of your latest posting from the COBOL Digest so you can see exactly what many of us are receiving.

Perhaps I'm not understanding but if you blanks truncated, CPYTOIMPF will do the whole FROMFILE(OS400DBF) will retain field sizes including Original message ------------------------------
