We have a situation where we need to communicate between COBOL programs and another application using TCP. A suggestion was made to use an RPG program for the socket communications and the COBOL program to deal with the business logic, but it would be preferable to have the COBOL program handle the business logic AND the TCP sockets. Does anyone have any examples or suggestions for using API's to open a TCP socket and transmit data to another application?
