When I went to COMMON last week (or was it longer ago than that!?!) in
New Orleans I found a distinct lack of COBOL sessions. I was
wondering if any COBOL programmers went/go to COMMON, and what kind
of sessions dealing with our choice of language (forced or not) you would
like to see and would attend. I would like to present some courses,
but don't know where to start. I have enjoyed the Latest and
Greatest in ILE COBOL that Jon Paris has done in the past, and believe
that this could be expanded on.
I don't want to spend time on a session that no one wants to
attend. Please post here any session ideas or frustrations you have
with COBOL and I will see what I can to for next spring. If we can
get going really well, I may be able to get the company to send me every
conference as a speaker.
Also post why you don't attend COMMON and where you find your
training.
