RE: Declaratives

Most errors can be handled by READ filename INVALID KEY.

I have used declaratives for DDM files connected to a remote system, where you never know if the file is truly available until the program runs.

Here is an example:

   DECLARATIVES.                               
   I-O-ERROR SECTION.                          
       USE AFTER ERROR PROCEDURE ON filename.     
                                    
   I-O-ERROR-COMMANDS.                         
       DISPLAY 'DDM ERROR: WILL TRY AGAIN LATER' 
       STOP RUN.                               
                                               
   END DECLARATIVES.
