>> Yeah - that means I can't just change the type of my old 'CBL'-programs ... to 'CBLLE'....... Do you have any idea of how to get around it with a minimum of coding in the programs? You should not even attempt to do this with COBOL in the way that you can convert RPG/400 programs piecemeal to RPG IV. COBOL has no compatibility mode in the way that RPGIV does and can _only_ work as a full ILE program. Mixing OPM COBOL and ILE COBOL can give you waaaaayyyyyyyy more problems than the file status errors you have experienced to date!! Don't do it - it is very bad for your health! COBOL is designed to be converted to ILE either carefully or at least a subsystem at a time. +--- | This is the COBOL/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to COBOL400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to COBOL400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to COBOL400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---END
