Thanks Charles. I'll give it a go. It will all be the same program after
binding and the retrieved API data wont disappear.
Sometimes I cant see the forest for the trees.

Why not change from a C program to an ILE C module?

You'd break your current main() into 2 parts, an init that does the malloc
and a close() that does the free.
