If using it in RPG is trivial, why not use RPG?
Because it's a change to an existing module written in C, that does
things that are generally easier and more efficient in C, and even
though the program in question also has an RPG module, moving the
handful of statements involved into the RPG module would be more trouble
than learning how to use the JOBL0200 format from C (and would create an
unnecessary "impedance bump").
And of course, now, I *do* know how to use that format (and similar ones
that also have only part of the output structure defined) from C, and so
I've learned something that may prove useful in the future.
