You might want to check out the Qp0lProcessSubtree() API - there's a worked
example in RPG in the RPG Redbook (SG24-5402) 

It was based on the C example in System API Reference OS/400 UNIX-Type APIs
(SC41-5875).  

So RPG or C - your choice!
