Here is the function I use: void StrParm(char *Variable, const char *Argument, const int ArgLen) { int i; strncpy(Variable, Argument, ArgLen); /* Strip trailing blanks. */ for (i=ArgLen-1; (i>0 AND Variable[i] EQ ' '); --i) Variable[i]='\0'; } /* Endfunc StrParm. */ Kent -----Original Message----- From: Stephen More [mailto:stephen.more@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2005 10:38 AM To: C programming iSeries / AS400 Subject: Re: [C400-L] Help Calling a C program From CL > Strings coming from CL programs are not null terminated unless you > specifically do it in the CL program. > I wrote a function which extracts the fixed length string from argv[x], trims > trailing blanks, and puts in the null terminator. Thanks. Addind the null and removing the space fixed the problem. Would you mind sharing the function you wrote ? It seems that the CL can not easily read the stdout from the c code. Is there a way that the CL can read the output into a variable ? -Thanks Steve More _______________________________________________ This is the C programming iSeries / AS400 (C400-L) mailing list To post a message email: C400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/c400-l or email: C400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/c400-l.
