I'm surprised that % is not supported for decimal operands. However, if you need to work with large numbers that may not be representable by a 64-bit integer, you could try an alternative forumla for computing the remainder that uses supported operations on decimal operands (namely addition, division, and multiplication: remainder(a, b) <- a - floor( a/b ) * b For example: #include <decimal.h> decimal( DEC_DIG, 0 ) mod ( decimal(DEC_DIG, 0) x ) { return (x - (decimal(DEC_DIG,0))(x / 2d) * 2d); }
