We have an archiving routine. Each week, we copy ITH records over 2 years old to an archive file (ITH_ARCH) then remove them from ITH

ITH currently has 2. 5 million records, ITH_ARCH has 12.3 million records

Obviously it doesn't lessen the total disk taken up by ITH and ITH_ARCH records, but it speeds up BPCS processes like inquiries as they have less ITH records to scroll through.

We then created an in-house ITH inquiry program which looks at both ITH and ITH_ARCH

If you can please respond with your ITH size and any other information you feel would be of use. We cannot purge ITH at month end due to an internal reporting process. We are working on another new process that will allow purging of ITH at month end.
