I was an early adoptee of IBM i 6.1. At the time we were running 405CD
and in the process of migrating to some flavor of LX. There were numerous
programs out there that did not pass ANZOBJCVN. I worked closely with
Infor to get these resolved. Before they themselves even had a machine
capable of running 6.1.
Now, we've been on maintenance like forever. We're the third customer
they ever had and the oldest they still have.
From what people have told me getting back in their good graces after
dropping maintenance will take something like your first born male child
and an organ to be named later. I suggest a stiff drink, giving them a
call and start negotiating. You'll probably spend more on Infor than you
will on the machine and OS.
Since I've kept up on maintenance and have not had to go through this pain
I have no hints or clues to offer you to aid you in this process.
