Re: [BPCS-L] Infor - Maintenance Clarification
I'm being told by Infor that we would get a single movement of the
software - w/o charge. I'm wondering what happens when we want to move
the software to the 3rd machine?

I have not had any issues. When we last upgraded our iSeries server, I
simply contacted them in advance to supply the serial number of the new
system, they gave me new license keys, and that was it.
As far as a limitation on how many times you can switch boxes, I don't
believe that is addressed. As long as you are current on maintenance,
changing boxes and getting new license keys is free....to my knowledge.

Can anyone explain their experience? We are looking at re-upping with
Infor on their Maintenance. Shortly after, we will go to a new IBM i
720 server.
With Maintenance in full force, are there typically ever any contractual
restrictions written in by Infor which will not allow you to, AT ANY
TIME, simply move/run your Infor software components to any new IBM i
software version and/or to any new IBM i hardware/software combination?
Also, are they restrictions/penalties against doing this multiple times
- say once every 4-5 years while fully on Maintenance?
TIA
