Gerardo,

It is on the ORD menu, Ship Confirm, program OLM575D1.  During the Ship Confirm
process a ZPD record gets created for the ECM ASN "document"(from the documents
defined to the order class of the order being shipped).  The ZPD processor calls
the program that I believe creates the TPEC record.

Thank you for the info,   Could you tell me what is the menu/program you use to
do the "Ship Confirm" and create the record in TPEC?   I believe we are not
using this program because we do the shipping process in other system but I
would like to take a look to see if we can start using it or create a custom
program
Gerardo

Gerardo,

The ECM adapter is ECM606, which includes programs:
ECM606B4    Outbound Advanced Ship Notice Transport
ECM606B7    Outbound ASN Item Summary
ECM606B8    Outbound ASN Pkg Hdr Summary
ECM606B5    Outbound Advanced Ship Notice Posting

We use an order class that includes the document ECM ASN (which calls ECM506B)
tied to the Ship Confirm step.

The rest of your setup in ECM is similar to other EDI transactions (linking your

trading partners, entities, etc. to the ECA, defining any custom ECA functions
you need, and so forth).

Since we need to get the ASNs sent out immediately when the order is shipped, we

put a trigger on the TPEC file to execute a custom program that checks for any
ASN records in the TPEC and if there are any it calls a program that runs ECM
and then calls our EDI translation software to create and send the EDI
transaction.

Hope that helps.

Debbie

What I'm looking for is a third party, finite capacity, production
scheduling system which runs on the iSeries.  The intent is to interface it
to their ERP.

I posted the inquiry here because I thought there might be some BPCS
installs that were using such a package.

Roy,

With that being the case, this actually might be better served by
inquiring on the regular list Midrange-L.
