When MRP runs it "locks" the facility so that when the planning cycle is run it has a "clean" environment for which to do its planning. There can be a number of issues that caused MRP to fail when it runs at night. A user could have left their session running, a job is still running that would interfere with MRP executing etc.
If the facility is locked then MRP will not execute and needs to be re-run.

I see - but the only error message I see is that the "facility was
locked" - I don't remember any other MRP issues, and it ran OK the
night before.

When you run MRP, the MRP applications 'LOCK' the facility. That way
you don't have too many hands in the pot, so to speak. Since your MRP
application bombed, your facility is still locked.

Hi Kevin,
I'll take a look at that - BUT - how could that be 'triggered' to lock ?
Thanks,
Don

Hi Don,
Try the program for
Reset Facility Locks SYS996D
I think it is on the SYS01 menu.

During the MRP run last night, the job hung with the above message.
